Rare opportunity to join our office team

Sadly, for us, a member of our team is retiring this year which means we now have a vacancy for a full-time member of staff working alongside our retiring team member to understand the job role and to be fully conversant of tasks to be undertaken. This is an office-based job at our store, Welland Valley Feeds, Rockingham Road, Market Harborough, Leicestershire. LE16 7QE.

·         Accounts Receivable/Credit Control – managing incoming payments, maintaining accurate financial records

·         Organisational Skills – able to prioritise work and preferably have a good working knowledge of Excel.

·         Excellent telephone manner – taking customer orders over the phone, stock enquiries, understanding and communicating regarding online sales transactions, liaising with warehouse team, web team to assist customers as and when required

·         Supplier Loyalty Cards and Voucher management – ensure the business receives reimbursement by either credits or stock monthly

·         Carriage charges – checking invoices from hauliers in respect to orders sent and charges made

·         Knowledge of Equestrian, Agricultural and Pet related industry preferred

·         Problem solving with stock management

·         Purchase ledger – posting on purchase ledger invoices, chasing for invoices / statements

·         Stationery ordering – making sure quotes are reviewed to ensure best buying prices and have all relevant stock in place to run the business efficiently

·         Gift vouchers – managing the gift vouchers out / returned

·         Footfall – recording details of footfall both for account customers and non-account customers.

·         Database management – accurately recording information obtained in respect of animal medicines sold and weekly reminder mailshots

·         Emails – printing emails and distributing accordingly. Responding to those that require a response.

·         Tachodisc management – working with the driver of 7.5t vehicle to report re vehicle movement information per driver card

 

Hours:

Monday to Friday 9 a.m to 5.30 p.m less ¾ hour unpaid lunch break daily. 38.75 hours worked

Full-Time Shire Horse Groom – Stoke Albany, Northamptonshire

Due to retirement, we are seeking a dedicated, experienced, and reliable Full-Time Shire Horse Groom to care for our Shire horses and oversee their complete daily well-being.

This is a 40 hour, 7-day-a-week position and would suit someone passionate about heavy horses, with a strong work ethic and a calm, knowledgeable approach.

Key Responsibilities:

               Full daily care and management of Shire horses

               Mucking out, feeding, grooming, and general yard duties

               Show preparation

               Monitoring health, condition, and overall welfare

               Assisting with training, breaking in, and ongoing education

               Riding and driving (experience preferred but not essential)

               Tack care, stable management, and maintaining high standards of horse care

 

Requirements:

               Genuine passion for horses and their welfare

               Previous horse handling or grooming experience (Shire or heavy horse experience an advantage)

               Breaking, Riding and potentially driving experience preferred but not essential.

               Reliable, hardworking, and able to work independently

               Willingness to work weekends and commit to a 7-day schedule

               Showing experience
