Eyebrook Bird Feeds saving the bees with Channel 4’s Jimmy Doherty

Eyebrook Bird Feeds saving the bees with Channel 4’s Jimmy Doherty

This month Eyebrook Bird Feeds have joined forces with Jimmy Doherty in a new C4 series ‘Jimmy's Big Bee Rescue’ where he raises awareness of the plight of our bees and encourages everyone to grow food and habitat for them.

In the series, Jimmy attempts, over the course of a year, to increase the number of bees and related insects. He demonstrates how farmers, businesses and local government can all help to solve the problem.

Fay & Abigail Johnson are farmers who produce Eyebrook Bird Feed, which is stocked in our store, just down the road at Great Easton. Being a nature friendly farm, the family were pleased to be involved in the project highlighting the plight of the humble bee.

They join Jimmy on his campaign by planting wildflower strips around the farm to encourage more bees and pollinators. These beautiful flower strips provide much-needed food and habitat for insects, and are full of buzzing bees, pollinators and butterflies.

Follow the series to watch the strips grow and see how providing food and habitat for pollinators effects their populations at Rectory Farm. Click here to see the episodes availble on Channel 4 on demand.

Find Eyebrook Wild Bird Feeds in-store now, available in new eco-friendly paper sacks which are fully recyclable and compostable, and made from sustainable materials in the UK. You will be doing your bit to support a nature friendly farm, dedicated to improving the environment for birds, wildlife and of course the bees!
